How/ where did you get the chrome strip blacked out Eva 996? Was this a diy.

I don't know how he did it, but last night, I used Plastidip on mine! I masked everything really well, and went to town with the Plastidip. Looks good.

I need to take some pics this afternoon and will post them up.

I also plastidipped the Targa4S lettering. The nice thing about the Plastidip is that it is easily reversible if I want to go back to stock.

I wanted a Targa but couldn't find one that fit my options requirements and budget. They just didn't come up for sale often enough and I found a cabriolet that I loved so I quit looking. The hatch just seemed like a fantastic idea.

If I ever move over to a 991, a targa will be off of my list. I know the 997-style Targa isn't a true Targa, but in practice it's much more appealing to me than the Rube Goldberg contraption that they've done on the 991 body style.

On a side note, whistling mirrors isn't unique to Targas, IIRC. Thankfully, my car never had it but a friend's '06 cabriolet has it and he's never fixed it. It doesn't bother him but it drives me nuts.

My 2007 Targa is dirty and it is raining here...so will have to post pictures later.

I swapped out the Targa for my M5 for drive to airport this week - been so long since I drove the M5 the battery was just about dead. I really love the M5 but it is not even close to as much fun to drive as the 997. Took the M5 out for a spin to get it all warmed up before putting in garage and I realize why I never drive it...
e39 M5 - still wish I had mine even if only to drive occasionally - I miss it. The best BMW I have ever driven in 30 years of BMWs.

Here's a couple of quick pics. Sorry for the not so great quality. Will get better pics eventually.

I happen to have some Red Plastidip on hand, am tempted to do the S in red, but not sure if worth the hassle.

Yes. I masked the area, then sprayed plastidip onto the chrome strip. Allowed to dry, and then removed the masking.

I still need to take some better pics of my car. It looks great with the green and black.

Steve - yes, I really do enjoy it...just a very different experience than the Targa...but both super fun cars. The M5 is the garage queen as it would be hard to replace versus the Targa.

Just washed both cars....a couple pics (sorry about quality - bad lighting and from my phone)

F308gt4 - the Fisters are on the way - somewhere between California and Virginia. Expect to see them Friday. Still scheduled for install on the 24th. So far FD has been great to work with. Will keep you updated.
