Question Steering Wheel Airbag Jumper

I am switching my OEM Sport Steering wheel (w/ airbag) for an OMP Superturismo (w/out airbag) with the option to switch back to the OEM at any time.

To prevent the airbag warning light from tripping with the OMP wheel, I need to wire a 2.8 ohm resistor into the wire connector on the steering hub.

My issue now is that I do not know which pegs within the connector clip on the steering hub are for the airbag sensors and so do not know to which I should connect the resistors.

There is a great thread for the 996 but the 997 has a different connector:
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...ml#post5941168

It looks like only pegs 1,2,3,4,5,6 on the top row are live and pegs 7,8,9,10,11,12 on the bottom row are dummy. I'm guessing two pegs are for the horn and the other four are for the airbags.

Can anyone indicate to me which pegs within the connector are for the two airbag sensors (high impact and low impact)?

Edit: This image from the following thread is the connector in question:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...ing-wheel.html

EDIT (9.26.15): SRS light tripped with both 2.7 Ohm and 2.8 Ohm resistors. 3.0 Ohm resistors successfully bypassed the SRS sensors in the steering wheel. So I connected a 3.0 Ohm resistor to pegs 3&4 and another 3.0 Ohm resistor to pegs 5&6. This successfully jumped the SRS sensor and I have no SRS light on my dash.

Sticky-worthy.

Not many people want to swap to a non-OEM wheel, but this is great info. Thanks, Nate!

I may go this route myself.

Default Steering Wheel Airbag Jumper

I'll add pics on the DIY later and then close the thread to hold topic.

You went to the connector I actually used the harness from the air bag and put a resistor at the airbag end same concept different route

Peg 1 and 2 from left to right, those are for horn? If anyone would mind explaining how to wire them up to an OMP Superturismo, I will be forever in your debt. My internet searches for a month or so yield nothing but dissapointment.

This is how I did mine again there different ways I extended the wires on the horn so that if and when I switch to my old wheel I just cut and splice. You can also see how I jumped the airbag at the harness end. This is a semi permanent set up as I used splices but I just wrapped them in electrical tape as opposed to heat shrink that way I can go back to stock if I need hope it helps

Cross posting for the subs......

Here is the diagram in question. I've highlighted the terminals for the following:
1) Low speed steering wheel airbag for jumping with a 3.0ohm .5W resistor
2) High speed steering wheel airbag for jumping with a 3.0ohm .5W resistor
3) Horn for wiring to steering wheel
4) High beam flash for wiring to steering wheel
5) Direction Indicators for wiring to steering wheel

I'm still figuring out the relay that differentiates left from light indicator and will post that once I have it.

Couldn't find a 2.8 ohm at frys. But I bought a 2.7 ohm. Will that still work?

Unfortunately, 2.7 did not work for me. 3.0 did.

Default Hmmmmmmmmm

Going through this now with a 69 Model wheel into a 997.1. I'd pay twice for this option!
I have an NRG release on it and couldn't determine which slots to jumpwith provided 3ohm resistor. Could someone explain which of the colored thermal poles to use?

If that tape and heat shrink weren't in the way.......

Anyone know where to buy the fuse type resistors? Need to go up to a 3ohm. Also need maybe a 10ohm for my LED tails?

What's a 'fuse type resistor'?

Are you referring to the silver fuze in this image:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post12547004
The resistor you can see is in-line in the black shrink wrap.

I bought my resistors for this project from here:
https://vetco.net/t/categories/semis...arts/resistors
Arrived in less than a week.

Yes the clear body as above, referred to as a MICRO FUSE, in 3ohm. Available at any auto parts store. Now whether it's actually 3 ohms is subject to testing. I have the airbag warning off via Durametic but it's still illuminated beneath the gauge cluster. Airbag trigger failed for low and high speed hence the red symbol on dash but not creating a CEL/ warning. I'll swap the male ends of the resistors and see if that helps.
