Am I crazy for thinking about selling my 997.2 C4S Cabrio?
So I keep thinking about selling my 997.2 C4S cabrio due to it just sitting in the garage lately. I have an 80 mile round trip commute of bumper to bumper driving to the office and hate to drive the Porsche in it and then in the summer we spend all weekend on the boat so I end up driving my Audi in these scenarios.
Someone talk me out of selling it
I'm worried if I do sell it and want another I won't be able to find one optioned like this.

How many miles have you put on it in the last 12 months?
If that number is less than 2-3 thousand, then maybe you should let it go. But if its higher, keep it an enjoy it when you can. Assuming finances aren't a big enough issue, I vote keep it.

Although my 09 C4S only have 16,xxx miles (This picture was taken last weekend), I am planning to keep it until something great that I had to have comes along.

It's a 3rd car so probably would not replace it with anything right now. And yes, I love driving it when I get to. Definitely puts a smile on my face. Plus I've had no issues with it and it's still under CPO.

I say keep it. I'm in a similar situation, it's the 3rd car, I don't drive it as much and thought about selling. I talked myself out of it because based on experience, every time after I sell I will start thinking about another Porsche in a few months, and eventually want another one and when I buy I'll just be losing money from both the sale and the purchase. So why not keep it in the first place.

I've been in the same boat last 3 years. Used to DD my 997 that I bought new but then kids came and I had to get a second, more practical car, so recently she just sits. And I just bought an A7 which seems to give me 90% of the 997 thrill plus back seats and a large hatch.
I just hate having things that do not get used, still would be very very sad to see the 997 go.

Looks like you've posted here to ask permission. If so, then that's your answer ... Keep it. If you need the money, the space, or a simpler life ... Then that is a different matter altogether!

I've put less than 2000 miles in the last six months. I could not be convinced to sell it just because I don't drive it as much as I'd like: that makes me enjoy it more.

Perhaps an even more impractical story will convince you to keep it.
I live in Iowa, and we've never met a caustic road salt solution that we didn't love and overuse. So the two 911s sit in the garage for at least 5 months every year in favor of an AWD Lexus GS F-Sport. During the summer I drive them frequently, but they are by and large sunny day cars because the only thing I hate more than dirty cars is washing them.
So for less than 4000 miles a year I have a couple hundred grand sitting in the garage (seen 930 prices lately?), $3k in licensing and insurance yearly, and the costs of meticulous maintenance. But oh boy those are a great 4000 miles and worth every single penny.
Don't sell!

I didn't like the idea of selling mine even though I only drove her 3,000 miles per year until such time as I liked the idea of having the cash and avoiding the annual maintenance more than paying the maintenance and having access to the car. I just posted the ad this week.
