You may have the greatest muscle car collection in the 997 forum. Impressive stuff.

And short of an engine blowing (I have the .2), with such little depreciation, this just may turn out to be one of the most affordable cars I will own.

Not to get too detailed, but between both of my cars (the other is an A4 Avant) I have less than 3 percent of my net worth tied up in these depreciating assets. The other 97 percent is in appreciating assets. For me that makes the 911 easy to justify and even more enjoyable to drive.
I like buying pre owned for financial reasons too, but with a specialty car like the 911, it's pretty rare to find one built exactly the way I want. So I splurged on the GTS Cab. It had the makings of a special car, and it has turned out to be just that. But for my DD BMW sedan, pre owned is a no brainer.

Makes sense. GTS Cab are pretty rare I'd think so finding a used one the way you want would be tough. Very nice car.

Original owner here 2008 C2. Happened to find the car specced exactly as I liked and they were practically giving them away at the time. I was actually looking to get an Audi S5 at the time, but the Porsche half of the dealership was much more willing to work out a deal.

Have had an awesome ownership experience so far, honestly haven't really found anything to mod because it serves daily driver duties (except winter) and is a perfect Grand Tourer the way it came from the factory.

Been a member of this forum pretty much since bought the car but only started posting recently.

I'm the 3rd owner of mine. I was actually looking for a TT when I found this car. First owner was the one that did the RUF Kompresor conversion, a lot of the CF interior pieces, built in radar, etc - spent a fortune - sticker was $105k and he added about $50k. 2nd owner just drove and maintained it. I did the rest of the mods (rear bumper, exhaust, suspension, more CF, etc.) the past 3 years after acquiring it with 40k miles.

Love this car and have it just the way I want it - likely will never sell unless offered ridiculous money. It's the only one of its kind in the US, so I never see it's twin - brothers and sisters maybe, but not it's twin.

Original owner of my 2006 Carrera S in Arctic Silver Metallic and black interior with the following options: Aerokit, X51 Powerkit, adaptive sports seats, full leather interior, Sport Chrono Plus, 19" Carrera Classic wheels, 5mm spacers, red gauges, red seat belts, 6 disc CD changer, metal door insignia and I'm sure to have left out a couple of options while writing this. I added the Carrera S script to the sides of the car and also had the seat belt apertures at the B-pillars and the center console painted Arctic Silver. My next interior mod is to put the door trim where the interior door handles are in leather from the dealer. I love this car! I custom ordered it from Champion Porsche in November, 2005 with build of February, 2006 because I'm not a fan of turbos and there was no GT3 available at the time, plus I needed rear seats. It turned 70,000 miles as of yesterday.

Close enough for me I guess, got it with just over 6k miles for slightly over half of original sticker. It's this personal rule I've had for about 10 years. I just can't stomach eating the first 3-4 years of depreciation on cars over 100k, ergo I always buy those used. I blame it all on the CPA side of my brain but it's served me well.

One of my friends and I have the same car(Not Porsche). He paid 300k and change for his. I purchased the same model year, 5 years later, for 97k with less miles and in pristine condition. Even conservatively that car depreciated like 40k a year for the first 5 years.

I've made 1 exception to my rule over the years and the car actually appreciated in value. The only other time I'd make the exception is if I was in the market for a GT3 because the value on those barely moves over the years.
