Cab top replacement
Searched the forums and did not find an answer here for 997s.
I'm wondering how many folks have had their convertible top replaced, where they found the top, and how much to budget for parts and labor.
I recall seeing these on Pelican or Suncoast a while back, but checking both today does not show they stock these anymore.
thanks,
Scott

I too have a cab and have not noticed anyone posting such information. Hopefully that means it is not as frail as other cabs I have owned. Maybe someone will chime in and give us cab owners some insight.

I've looked into it before. The black 997.2 top is part 99756190104A10 and retails for around $2700. You can find them at various places in the $1600-1900 range online.
If you want to replace due to the wear marks, I'm not sure there's much point. It will just happen on the new one.

I have seen them online for as little as $600 without the window (re-use existing window). But as JayRace points out, those marks will appear in no time on a brand new one and they remain. Mine is 10 years old and the marks are pretty much the same as when it was one year old. They are not so much from wear, but just creases.

Thanks for the info. I just noticed some very light wear marks in the main place it creases. Otherwise it looks pretty good and I have been treating it with 303. I just wanted a reference point to budget when it does happen.

Yeah this same discussion comes up every once in a while. The consensuses is that it's just normal and a fact of life with 997 tops. Every cab I looked at, even very low mileage ones, had the crease / rub / wear marks. They don't seem to change much over time.
