I've found a car in Germany for an outstanding price, i'm wondering if it's worth working with that dealership and shipping it back. Thoughts?

Feels like a lot of risk on your part unless you have a local trusted resource to vouch for the dealer or inspect the car personally. Just my opinion. Your appetite for risk may be higher. Good luck!

Converting a euro model to U.S. DOT standards could be prohibitively expensive, especially for an exotic Be sure to do your homework to see if the car is really a bargain after figuring in all costs. Good luck!

Careful, NHTSA, DOT, EPA and FMVSS regs are difficult to navigate. What you can, and cannot import, what needs, or does not need to be made to conform to DOT and EPA regs, and the documents you need to do it (title, sale paperwork, etc.) are somewhat of a mystery unless you're in the business of importing cars.

I'm trying to make a business out of that, actually ... Civil litigation sucks, and I'm trying to figure out if becoming a Registered Importer is worth it.
