Thanks! Buying the race ramps would be too easy (and expensive). I had fun building the cribs.

Thank you! I removed the side mufflers and took them to an local exhaust shop. They "gundo hacked" the mufflers and I have already installed them back to the car. I will post photos as soon as I get some free time.

Here are some photos, Gundo hack with 2" pipes. I called 3 local exhaust shops and none had stainless steel pipes. So, I went with aluminized steel. The hack was done by Muffler Man Orlando (no affiliation) and the cost was $130 for both mufflers.

Default Fabspeed x-pipes installation

Yesterday I finally installed the fabspeed x-pipes. Took me 30 min to remove the stock center muffler and about 45 min to install the fabspeed x-pipes.

First impressions:

1) I was afraid adding the x-pipes to 2" pipes gundo hack would sound too loud. But no, I would say the volume in a scale from 1 to 10 went from 6 with gundo to 7-8 with gundo + x-pipes.

2) Firing it up and giving some gas I immediately noted the sound is now more refined/tuned, kind of European style but not like f-cars or lambos (which IMO would sound odd). Just the perfect sound for a Porsche.

3) First ride and, besides the tuned tone and a little more burbling, not much difference in volume below 3k RPM.

4) Now... above 3k RPM the thing comes alive. A kind of metallic/raspy sound I dare to say sounds similar than the 991 GT3. When switching gears (specially from 2-3 and 3-4) the sound is just... intoxicating!

5) I noticed more burbling when taking foot off the throttle.

6) No droning, no vibrations.

Conclusion:

If you are looking for volume, just do the 2" pipes gundo hack. For a more refined sound and a few extra volume, adding the fabspeed x-pipes to gundo is a great option. Overall, I think it was a well spent grand.

Installation tip:

Set all parts in place without tightening. You have more room for adjustments when parts loosen. When you get all parts in place just start tightening the 6 cat nuts, then the 2 x-pipe support brackets and last the x-pipe clamps.

About fabspeed:

The quality is superb. No installation instructions, some might have hard time figuring out how to install the support brackets.
