We've been looking for a 2012 997S or 4S w/ PDK. In the process we've stumbled upon a low mileage (5900mi) 2011S w/PDK that has my wife's attention.
Is there any reason we should pass on this year and continue to focus on 2012? We targeted the 2012 as it seems to be the newest S/4S that fits our budget.
I’ve read many threads on the 997.2 and didn't find anything that spoke to difference between these two MYs. I have a decent understanding of the 964/993 cars but, I’m unencumbered with knowledge when comes to 997.2 cars.

Without a VIN# I'd be impressed if you could find anyone able to tell the difference between a 2011 and a 2012. There is certainly no reliability issues different between the two. If your budget can swing it, I'd recommend the GTS for the standard power kit.

Great... thanks. The GTS is on the list now as well. They seem to run a little higher in price but, it does have some very impressive features. Going to drive one later this week... should be fun!

+1 on the GTS, although my wife finds the suspension a bit "stiff" for her liking (she's drivin it like 3-4 times total), but I find it just right....Btw I have the Sports pasm option...

if the 2011 has the options you want and the color is what the wife wants, buy it.
