Default 60K service question

A question for you DIY'ers.

I normally do my own lighter maintenence but I was going to take her into the shop for the 60K. Since my PDK failed last month and was replaced by the factory, what else is there for me to do besides the general fluids and filters?

The feedback here seems to vary on the water pump ... change it proactively, or wait for it to fail. On the proactive side, you don't want bits of water pump floating around in your engine, plugging random orifices.

From my reading, this seems to be a concern on Gen 1 cars. As a newbie and owner of a 997.2, do we worry about the pumps in those cars in similar fashion?
