Racetwin,
How did you hold yours in place without zippy ties. I made mine but hate the ties as there is nothing to hide them

On my 997.1 there are black plactic horisontal bars "inside" each white horizontal bar. I just took a couple of 4mm zippy ties and pushed them between the black and white plastic. Then they are completely hidden when viewed from the front and when you tighten the strap unerneath it is almost a stealth assembly. You have to bend down and look really hard in order to see them.

For the center mesh I have already bought the black clips described in the pic above. I just need to find the best way of placing them so they are not visible from the outside.

Wayne: In my case the center mesh is just for looks as I dont have a center radiator. So the need can be debated but I had excess mesh so one thing led to another The compartment is closed so there is no added functionality.

p.s I got my idea from the turbo section and even if my 997 doesn't have the vertical bar I saw that the vertical bar can be pushed out if you want the mesh mounted flush to the plastic bars. But on your own risk. There is also a Youtube clip of a similar assembly where he shows the removed vertical bar.

I can probably put up the template with measuremets for the different mesh if you want for the different pieces. If it is not available already.

If you have the templates you could post on here or email them to me that would be great. All three if you have them

For the 997.1 the measurements are as follows:

Picture is upside down please also note that I have the rubber lining so if you leave it out you should have a slightly larger mesh. Also length wise.

Center mesh (covers full gap but with rubber lining):
Length: 67,5 cm or 26,5 inch
Width: 11,3 cm or 4,45 inch

The long side is 67,5 and the bottom side that is completely straight is 50 cm.

Side mesh (radiator)
Length: 36,5 cm or 14,5 inch
Width: 12,3 cm or 4,8 inch

For the big radius I started cutting 6 cm from the top of the short side and finished the radius 8 cm into the long side of the mesh

I anyhow suggest that you do a cardboard version before cutting. It is also usefu one day when you want to replace it for one reason or another.

I didn't want to see edges. The 997.2 has a smooth inside (no lip) behind the vent so the screen can extend beyond the hole. Therefore, without a visible edge, I opted for no edge trim. And all I needed to be was within some inches on the cut. It was literally hold up on the outside, cut proud (see previous photos), slide in, and secure.

That may seem offensive to some, but it worked and works like a charm.

You don't see edges on the 997.1 one above in the pictures either. The 2 radiator mesh are larger than the opening and is mounted behind and flush to the horizontal bars.

The center piece is a different story. Since it will move and vibrate I wanted to protect the paint from scratches. I am thinking of reducing the size to fit only in the small black center piece/hole but need to see the look from a distance first.

Post what you do with the center. I continue my debate on that hole ... Still want to vacuum occasionally.

Default No more leaf cleaning

Installed my screens today, looks like they came that way. Not sure why this was not standard equipment.

Sweet. Does seem like a factory oversight!
