read in another forum that the sports chrono can be programmed to light up with the dash lights via piwis. Can this be confirmed?

I played with the stop watch to get it to 9.11 and didn't reset it. Now it lights up everytime I get in the car.

Is that what you're after?

When the chrono is in use, it lights up with the running lights. Otherwise, it is not lit up as it would be a distraction given its place on the dash.

Yes we all abree that it lights up when in use. I am referring to the condition that even if not in use it will liht up when the dash lights are on. Westgate, is that what you did?

Just start the timer and then stop it without resetting it. It's now "in use" even though it's not running and will light up with the rest of the gauges.

I agree sand. I have mine at 997 but that not my point. Just want to know if ot were a programmable item. For the information of those who just want it even if the numbers are at 0.

Lotsa noise here. Yes you can set the sport chrono to be lit up all the time. Setting is available in piwi's.
My opinion is that it looks neat at night.

Agree...it would be annoying with it lit up at night all the time. Actually sort of in the line of sight when driving slow in the city and parking lots....not a good idea to have it come on all the time.

May look neat lit up at night but for me, a distraction. vision should be on the road ahead not on the dash.

PIWIS is the software the Porsche dealership uses to program/reset stuff on the OBC. It is more comprehensive and terribly more expensive than a Durametric cable.

Thanks, so "OBC"? "on board computer" maybe, but that seems all too obvious!! LOL!!!

I have a lot to learn, coming from the Corvette side of things (and a '79 SC)
