Anyone else considering a 991 GTS?
I bought my Carrera S new in 05 and love this car, but I am considering ordering a new 991 GTS. Am I nuts??? Here is my reasoning. I think this will be the last normally aspirated 7 spd manual. I know it is much more GTish but I think everyone would agree its still a sports car when you mash the go pedal. I was even thinking about trying to keep my 997 as I think these cars will stay popular in the future. Shhhhh. Don't tell wifey.

I'm not just thinking about it, I just put a deposit and finalized my build. It was good timing for me, and the dealership made it pretty sweet to make the move. My lease is up in July and they pulled me forward with some nice incentives.
I'm going from a black 997.2 C4S Cab to a Agate GTS coupe, 7-speed, with more extra's than I first planned for!! But ain't that the way it goes!!
Cheers

Personally, only 991 that looks interesting to me as a new car purchase is the GT3. Rest I have no interest in... literally wouldn't trade my 997.2 C4S for any of the new carrera models (other than for, of course, the value difference).
Also, and this is off topic, but I pulled on the road once against a C4S 991 and while in gear we were effectively even (he had slight edge and this was in 3rd gear)... so I don't think much real world "seat of pants" performance is to be had in the newer cars. I'm in the camp that these 997s are poised to become a historically well-regarded model (IMS aside) because of the sportiness of the cabin, hydraulic steering, and more classic (but modern) 911 look. I even think the 997 will age better in terms of looks... much like the 993s look more fresh in many ways than 996s...

I have an 07 C2S that has been nothing but rock solid. I've been checking out 991's and the GTS and GT3 certainly are intriguing. It's a little shocking how much these cars cost now. $140k seems a little ridiculous especially the way Porsches seem to depreciate. My 997 is still driving incredibly so I may hang on to it and look for a used GTS or GT3.

No interest... Now the Porsche cayman gt4 might be the hot ticket.
I'm going to keep this 911 2 more years and than see what is in the market
The 991 is too big and truely becoming a gt car
