spacers for winter setup - narrow wide body?
I got a winter setup from the PO, but when I tried them on this spring, just to see what it looks like, it became apparent that the rims are from a narrow body 911. I already have 5 mm spacers in the back with my normal setup. I don't mind the wheels sitting a bit "in" while running winters to protect from the salt and gravel that is a permanent feature of driving on Alberta winter roads, but it looks a bit goofy so deep set in. What width of spacer can I run safely? I am new to the Porsche game and would appreciate comments from the forum. Still debating whether to drive my beaut in the winter, but you only live once...

You need to calculate using the current offset on those wheels to determine the spacer width. If the rear offset is 67 then you can do 15mm spacers.
Fyi: there's a wheel offset calculator on the web.

I have a set of 2 Porsche OE 17mm spacers with lug nuts for sale if you're interested. Just let me know. I used them for 1 season on the rear hubs of my 996 C4S with my winter wheels.

Not sure of the exact size you have, but many of the OEM NB vs WB wheels look like this:
Fronts: 19X8 ET57 (same for both NB & WB)
NB Rears: 19x11 ET67
WB Rears: 19X11 ET51
In this example the rears are 11" wide with 16mm offset difference between NB & WB (ET67-ET51=16mm). Putting 15mm to 17mm spacers on the NB setup makes them look like the WB setup.
If your existing setup is the same width as the new winter setup, the calculation is simple - subtract the offsets and find a spacer near that size. If the widths are different, use an online calculator to help figure it out.
Another option is to mount the winter wheels on the car and use a ruler to measure how much you want to push the wheels out. That measurement is the size spacer you need.
