I'd consider Fister sport mufflers if I were you. I had them on my 996 C4S and they were great. They are a modification of the existing mufflers rather than a new muffler. They sound just right - not too loud, no droning and they add a nice sound.

When I first got mine just a few months' ago I immediately sought out an aftermarket exhaust. Had a couple hiccups in getting the right one and the stock sound is starting to grow on me. Probably still too quiet but just a thought to give it a bit of time.

Don't do any interior mods. It's a slippery slope, fwiw

Yes, I know. I tore out the interior of the 87 Carrera and replaced everything. $8k! It was beautiful, but very hard work for almost 2 months. It is on Pelican forum under, jhubs or Interior project, it has to date over 91,000 views. Never again with my bad back!

That interior is breathtaking. Ventilated seats is a great option. I don't need them up here in Seattle but I'd take them. Great color choice and very consistent with your choice in past cars.
Honestly, aside from the Gundo hack for the exhaust, I would consider 7mm spacers on the rear. I've got the factory 5mm on mine and 7mm on yours would likely give you a stance that is similar to your 993, which is perfect IMHO.

Beautiful 997 Jerry! Can't wait to hear the exhaust when you decide on which system and install, hopefully spring 2015!

Beautiful 997, congratulations.
However, I'm curious to know what made you decide to jump from your classic 993 to the 997?
When I look at your previous ride, it makes realize why people crave to own a 911 to begin with.
I recently purchased a 997 ('05 C2 Guards Red / Black) after deciding that it was a more prudent purchase than going with a 993 (briefly thought of going with a 996 C4S, but I couldn't get past the fried egg headlights). I am more than happy with my final decision.
Would be interested in knowing your thoughts.

Welcome to the 997 C4S family...you are going to love it!!!
On the exhaust, I wanted a bit more sound also but did not want it to be too loud as it is a DD...I have decdied to go with the Sharkwerks bypass...getting installed next week...will let you know what I think...until then enjoy the AWD...
