Default Wireless Phone Headset Question

I got my 2009 997 with the wireless headset missing. So I bought one on ebay. It fits perfectly in the cradle and charges OK but it displays No Connection to Vehicle. How do I pair it with the car? I could not find any option in the car's menu and the headset itself does not have any menu at all (Ot I can't reach it).
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I assume you mean your car came with the bluetooth phone handset, correct?

That device would need to be paired with the cell phone installed in the car.

I don't have a care installed phone option, just the bluetooth handsfree phone option (which is different than the cell phone in the car with bluetooth external handset option you have) - but I would think there is a configuration menu for the phone or the bluetooth in the PCM system.

I tried that bluetooth menu but it did not find any new devices.
BTW My iphone works fine over bluetooth.
Next thing I plan to try is to put a SIM card in the slot and try the bluetooth connection again.
I thought the headset would work even without the sim over a paired mobile phone.

So I tried it with a SIM card installed in the dashboard but no change. The wireless headset is not visible as a bluetooth device.

It's hard to tell for sure with all of the options available for Porsche's, but I'm pretty sure there is no wireless headset option in any 911. I've never heard of or seen one. I have seen a wired handset such as the one at this link: http://www.oemporscheparts.com/audio...ne-module.html, but that is wired. Could you post a photo or better description of the device and its placement? Any model number info on it would be useful too.

The 997.2 offered the wireless version - but it was for the phone-in-PCM option, which is sometimes spec'd outside the US (RoW), but hardly in the US since we cannot get clone SIM cards from our phone carriers here officially).
