Default 997 cab windows top closing (windows)

Sometimes when closing my convertible top the rear quarter windows don't shut all the way when the car beeps that the operation is complete. Any idea? It's usually like 2-3 inches from being completely closed. Is this normal?

Not normal but probably just need to be lubricated. I have a product that I use but can't remember the name and am out of town. I think it is silicone based.

I believe the 996 would do this when the hydraulic fluid level was low and a top malfunction warning would also be indicated. When that occurred it prevented the back windows from shutting. Maybe the 997 operates the same, but your fluid level is not low enough to indicated an problem. Try checking the fluid level.

Where is the reservoir/dipstick for this?

Could be simply a bad end position for the rear windows. I had this issue with left rear. After an end position reset works fine. Many threads on this and owners manual also explains how to reset end position depending on year and model.

Not normal but common window issues on cabs. My driver's window on occasion goes up when closing the top but then comes back down almost half way and stops. I release the top close switch and then just close the window with the window switch. Never failed yet, but it is a bit disconcerting and annoying. Only happens when parked, if moving it works as it should! I tend to think it is more of an electric sequence issue, but who knows

I am going to check fluids and possibly try reset, but leaning toward rob's opinion. It seems random and happens with different windows. If it was fluid / end position it would happen to same windows IMO

Don't bother with the fluid check. Just reset your ending points in the windows. Hold the close window control about 3 seconds longer than needed to get them fully closed and that should reset the ending point for them. This is a common issue.
