There was also a campaign to replace the high pressure fuel pump on some cars. Check to make sure it was done, or that it is not applicable to your car. Also have them check for DME errors, which may indicate other problems.

Find out if the clutch slave cylinder is leaking.
Most importantly, have everything replaced that is cosmetic that you're not happy with. If there's a piece of exterior trim that you don't like the looks of, tell them you want it fixed. After the warranty expires, exen with an extended warranty, none of that gets fixed for you.

Be careful with the report you get back. Dealers want to keep a car in as new, as delivered specifications. Often their report can be an arms length long, with a cost of 50% of the car. Take the report with a grain of salt. Don't get depressed. Its now a used car. If you don't get an extended warranty for the o/e dealer. Now is the time to find a second opinion indy mechanic.
ie. 8oo dollar Porsche water pump? Or a $2oo dollar oem? 5 hours shop/book time? or 3?

Sorry folks, the car is mine since new. So, I'm taking it in for its 50k service and it will be out of warranty soon. Blissful 4 yrs of ownership with no issues (*clutch switch). High pressure Fuel pump did not apply for this car, per Vin. Wanted to know what to ask service people specifically to look for. They have a vested interest in finding stuff wrong, but if the customer is not aware, they may miss it too. Its always been serviced at Porsche of Sandy Ego.

Car came with sport PASM which includes limited slip differential. Read here many times that it doesn't last too long. Is there any way to check if its working? Is this a wear item like the clutch plates? Is it covered by warranty?
thanks

Don't know if there's a simple way to check the condition of the water pump. Mine went out on the -09 C4S at around 30K miles and took the serpentine belt with it. Total repair cost was around $1,700 as I recall it, billed to and paid for by my extended warranty company. When that water pump goes, you're done traveling so you know. All kinds of lights come on making it clear it's wise to find a safe place to park....quickly.
