The CPO can transfer from a buyer to another buyer or from a Porsche dealer to a buyer. I had this done when I purchased by Porsche last year. My CPO expires in the December 2014. The only thing you need to do is send your new information to Porsche of America.

Definetaly, do a PPI with an independent Indy shop.

If you have concerns, get a copy of the warranty and see what it says about transferring from consumer to dealer to consumer.

Thanks again for all the help...as we progress with negotiations they have decided to make the car CPO and offer the 2yr or 100K warranty.

The dealers aren't allowed to take the PDK apart so it's a $13,000 repair/replacement job no matter what fails inside.
The biggest reason I bought an extended warranty from Fidelity ($210 every month)! Sandwedge converted me

Same thing here. Bought mine last year with remaining manufacturers warranty and also CPO. I checked carefully and was told the CPO follows the VIN. I sent in my information and also confirmed again with my local dealer when I was in for service. He showed me the record for my car in the system which clearly showed the CPO warranty.

I also had the PDK replaced in my car. It only had 11k miles but had a very slight leak. The only fix was to replace the entire unit.
I'm all for the warranty.
