One more tip: if you cut your mesh a bit wider and use 2-sided 3-M tape, it'll fit perfectly. You first have to remove the vertical bars (easy), then you just slide the prepared grille sideways.
I used the same template from this thread , which made my life very easy in cutting it to the right size. I managed to insert the grill thro the center and zip tied it.

How did you handle the vertical slats? Did you simply bend the grill?
Here you go: I was sent this by a Rennlister and it worked fr me. Just don't make the cut too close, leave a margin.
Gee, that looks familiar .
I did take out the vertical slats (be careful not to break the inserts that fit into the holes). Also, when you make your template, a small bit oversize may not be a bad thing. Just make sure it fits before making the final cut on your mesh.
Zipties the same color as your car (attached to the vertical slats) are virtually invisible and keep the mesh firmly attached to the vertical slats.
However, the fitment is not easy (at least for me) and if your household has a swear jar, you may make a few contributions. However, once you've fitted one grill, the other is much easier.
Once they're in, you'll have a much nicer view from the front.
