Driving in normal conditions at 28,000 mark service engine light comes on... Felt no noticeable difference in engine or driving ...
Any ideas what is going on?

Maybe time for an oil change? You may need to reset the reminders. Find a Durametric.

Service engine light is a "normal" reminder. Now a "check Engine Light" or CEL is not a good thing. Maybe not terrible but not great either. Get it serviced and reset & you will be good!

^based on that info, they probably did not reset it at the 11/26/13 service.

That's what I'm thinking... Seemed strange that it hit that exactly at the 28000 mile mark.. Of course this is the one weekend the wife and I are going on a road trip...
Thinking it is a reminder for the 6 year tune up or oil change of which were all done at 26000...

If it says "check engine visit workshop" then it is NOT a service reminder - it is a check engine light. If it is not yellow or red, it is not an emergency, and probably means that something is out of adjustment or not sealed properly. The most common causes for this type of warning is an improperly secured or loose gas cap or oil filler cap.

Just drove 70 miles.. Car feels great.. Thinking either something needs to be tightened oil? or service reset by computer

Check your gas cap, if not properly on or leaking you will get the light.
Could also be your O2 sensor.
