Guys, thanks for the compliments but I can only take credit for the install. Delavilla out of France thought out the nifty design and a local conscientious paint shop made it look pretty.

FBay r1,
Yes they needed paint, the one negative I could point out was the fiberglass panels needed work to get them top coat worthy. Two separate paint shops noticed "pin holes" so they weren't ready to go primed, as the advertising states. My paint shop of choice handled getting the paint , I did leave the tow hook plug which helped for a color match.

ADias
I do have other pics of various stages. I'm still unsure of posting pics on this site. I'd E-Mail them to you if you want. Just PM your E-mail
The kit does come with two vinyl wraps/cases to store and protect the painted panels. Make no mistake, however you're not in a good place if you get caught in the rain. There really is no provision other than awkwardly throwing the panels into the passenger seat area. Again, its quick and easy to remove the panels and get the top up, just difficult to deal with the panels after.

I'm not a big "mod" guy but I decided after checking it out at Suncoast that it'd give the car a different look. The beam that accommodates the two painted panels drops in and is secured using the wind-screen mounting holes. Easy beans!
On the actual 997 Speester (356 made) the humps actually come higher to the seats giving it, to me a more stout look. This kit seems to have a more stream line appearance and you could think of it more as a cover/finisher for the stowed soft top. After checking it out at Suncoast I decided to go with it and so far I'm happy with it.
ps. Check out the price of a real 997 Speedster. YIKES!!!

Ken I will get more pictures posted up soon. I've been traveling and have had no time to sit in front of the computer to resize the ones you sent.

To add to this thread, the humps look fantastic and really enhance the cars lines from every angle.

You're very close on your photo posting technique, the only thing missing is the closing brackets on the right side.

Paste the URL right in the middle between the 2 pairs of brackets. [IMG][/IMG]

Great look! Two questions. 1) Does it limit your seat recline in any way? 2) Have you noticed a rattle of the parts? I'm admit I'm half crazy hearing every cab noise, and I work hard to ignore the sounds and accept them.

Thanks.

sswalters,

Yes, it does alter the recline. I did use a windscreen prior which also restricts the recline of the seats. The black "beam" uses the same mounting points as the windscreen so the recline restriction is virtually the same. The seats are set all the way back and within a half inch of the beam in the pics.

Rattle was also a concern of mine. Only 50 miles so far however no rattles. The kit provides a length of weather stripping you must apply to the panels after paint. The clam shell when bedded compresses the panels/weather stripping for a snug fit. so far so good!

Afshin,
Feel free to post any of the pics I sent you. Thanks!

I like the look but I need to recline my seat. That's why I can't use the windscreen either.

beden,

I'd have to agree. I'm 6' 1" .... if I was any taller I'd likely feel a little cramped. So you make a good point. That's why this forum is so good, we're able to discuss the pro & con. Probably not so good for the really tall driver!

Question: Since you can't use the windstopper, do the humps block the wind at all or is it as though there's simply nothing back there? Inquiring wives want to know.

OldBold,

Yup the humps do block some wind, however not as effective as the windscreen. The windscreen reaches to the top of the seats and extends further to the sides.... therefore more effective.

TomV ,

You've written in the past about your aversion to wind screens. Oh, and if I meet your wife again I promise never to mention your comment!
