Long ago in my youth I had a 1977 yellow 924. I was at the NJ shore with my grandparents and aunt. I told them I'd cut the lawn when I got back from the beach. When I returned my aunt and grandparents were crying hysterically. I thought someone literally died. What happened is that my aunt could not wait for me to cut the lawn when I got back from the beach so she decided to do it herself (she's very compulsive ). During the process the metal bar that held up the lawnmower bag cut a two foot gash in the front passenger fender. somehow I didn't say a word. After all it's just a car and they already suffered enough. My grandparents are long gone but my aunt still tells the story.

Reacted the same way when my wife drove my M5 and cracked the underside of the front bumper. She was very apologetic and decided not to drive it again. Worse thing was she heard me b1tch about it to my guy friends. Made me feel awful after I realized what I've done.

I decided from then on it's just a car and it can be fixed, but now she wouldn't drive the 911.

Time to upgrade. Gt3, gts or 991_50. There is no other way to work through that kind of grief.

"Honey, as you well know, this car is now damaged goods. I guess I'll have to get a 991."

You guys are the best free therapy I could afford!

Spent a few minutes in the garage entertaining the "it'll buff out" fantasy... Now I'm imagining how great a GT3 would look in that bay. ;-)

Ground her for two weeks, paddle her, make her do the thing she won't normally do, never let her drive it again!

I never understood these perfect car obsessions... I guess maybe if it was an Enzo.

I certainly wouldn't call it an obsession. Heck, I've even taken it through a CARWASH! The humanity...

It's just that if something is going to happen to MY car, I just figure it should be at MY hand.

If it were me, Hmmm.
Either, put a band aid on it, drive it for a while... then get it repaired. Make her suffer for a while.
Or
Get it fixed immediately. Don't sweat it. "Any story you can tell is a good story."
There are worse problems.

What would really pizz me off is, if she didn't care. Now that would be a real problem. Real remorse, will heal your automotive wound. And a beer.
