Default 997.1 Brakes Bleeding

Hello everybody i saw a few thread about how to bleed a Porsche 997.1 and i got a question regarding this procedure.

i saw this : The basic 911 Carrera brake system with anti-lock brakes (ABS 5.3 and 5.7 without PSM) can be bled using traditional methods. For cars with traction control or Porsche Stability Management (PSM), you need to use the Porsche System Tester 2 (PST2) in order to activate the valves in the hydraulic unit during the bleeding process. If your car has a “PSM off” switch on the dashboard, then you will need to go to a shop that has a PST2 so that the brake system can be bled properly.

if i am bleeding my brakes system i have to bleed the ABS or not ?
I think its not necessary but better no ?

if i want to bleed the ABS what i have to do ?
Download the durametric software from the official website and then buy on eBay a cable ?
What cable i have to buy cause we see so many cables ?

And regarding the ABS bleeding how to do ?

thks

It doesn't seem to be necessary... I've done 3 brake flushes w/o using my Durametric Pro tool to bleed the ABS. If you want to get a DM tool, however, avoid the ones on ebay. They are knock offs(even the pricier $150 units) and IMHO potentially dangerous to connect to the car's ECU. Get the real tool directly from DM... talk to Owen. If you start with the Enthusiast tool DM will give you full credit towards the Pro tool down the road. GL. http://www.durametric.com/default.aspx

Bleed mine about 6 to 8 times a year...and various 997 cars...never had to take it to the dealer to do as you explained.

I've just done it the old fashioned way and it seems to clean out everything.

Are you bleeding your clutch as it shares the same system? Its a bit of a pain but worth getting the old fluid out.
