idea about Durametric Pro.
I need to use it once, but if enough Porsche people want, I would buy one and rent it for about $25 and exact shipping. One person could ship it to another user after there done. I won't use it often anyways.
Any interest here before I ask on the other boards on this site?
Not that computer literate but…..

They do something similar to this on the NSX site.

Are you a member of the PCA? Have you contacted your local chapter, attended one of their monthly meetings, asked around there etc? I am sure there are more than a few cables flopping around there.

Too much chance of the thing getting lost as it goes from person to person...
Might be easier and cheaper to just buy the enthusiast edition and resell it. That's what I did.
Or buy a used one and just keep it. It's great for diagnostics as the car gets older.

I bought the enthusiast edition I used it twice the first month. First was the loose oil filler cap. Then pulled a code for putting the car sideways in the snow a few times playing. I mean I had to see on how to get the car out of a slid after all

I just had my new BMW coded for all sorts of interesting features last month using a cable and laptop set up that I'd never need to have on my own. I went to a weekend meet up here in Los Angeles that was set up by a bunch of folks on the local BMW F30 forum site. In leu of people donating cash and someone shipping around a durametric pro cable (what happens if it gets lost, broken, etc.) just find or set up a local Porsche meet and look for someone who has a pro cable. Much better approach and a great way to see other P cars. Offer food. That seemed to bring out the BMW guys. haha.

I went halves on a Pro tool with someone locally. A DM Pro was just sold yesterday on here for $500. Split between 2 users... that's less than an Enthusiast tool. Plus if you're shopping for a car... you can pull your own DME for the over revs on as many vehicles as you want. GL... I wouldn't live w/o an Enthusiast or Pro tool especially if you like to DIY.
