water pump
Just as a data point for anyone who searches a squeeking sound from their engine, mine was a failing water pump. Car is 2011 997.2 C2S.
Noticed a squeek-squeek squeek sound from the engine at idle, when engine was hot. Sounded like the belt slipping a little. From underneath the engine, it sounded louder. Did a search, saw some people had a squeek from a failing water pump. Porsche dealer diagnosed it as a failing water pump and replaced it under warranty.
I do run the car every now and then, for a day or two, on Sport Plus mode, which takes it to redline. It was a day that I was doing this that I first noticed it. I hope that the new water pump is up to the task, and won't go bad with this type of activity.
Just a data point for others to benefit from. Not bashing anything. Car is fantastic.
