Default Which seat is which???

I'm thinking of buying a 997, and I figured out I need to understand the seat options better - otherwise I have no idea whether the car 1000 miles away that looks great on the internet will have me wishing I were sitting in a Honda ...

So far as I can tell, there are at least four seats (plus the GT2/3 seats):
1. Adaptive sport seat (five buttons on the side)
2. Full electric seat (three buttons) - 2 kinds:
2a. Sport (larger bolsters, also firmer?)
2b. Comfort - which I like
3. Standard seat (manual height adjustment and fore/aft adjustment) - which I also like

Correct? Anything missing? Perhaps there are also two versions of the first and last seat? Or other options that affect fit & comfort?

Thanks for any insight into this!

- Comfort manual -- i.e. standard
- Comfort electric
- Sport manual
- Sport electric
- Adaptive Sport
- GT2 Bucket seats

Then each has some other options like full leather, Alcantara inserts, and various aesthetic options.

I am a bit odd when it comes to seats and steering wheels. My car started out with the basic electric heated seats which I never thought were comfortable I pulled them out and put in the none heated GT3 adaptive sport seats which are amazing.

Your list is close as there were five different seats available in the 997 (but only one with three buttons):

1. The base seat with electric only on the seat back
2. Power comfort seat which are the base seats with multiple electric adjustment (what you refer to as 'three buttons')
3. The sport seat with electric only on the seat back
4. Adaptives which are the sport seat with multiple electric adjustment (five buttons)
5. The sport buckets which are highly valued by the track guys

Thanks! And you are right - as per you post in the first thread - searching is a good thing. I did search, but I apparently didn't pick the right search terms, or maybe I should have looked at more pages of results, but I didn't see an answer coming without asking ...

And thanks also to dasams and alexb76 - I think I now know the answer - almost ...

Combining your posts and my experience, it seems there are at least 5 seats PLUS the gt2/3 seat(s)*:

- Manual (semi-electric), comfort/standard
- Manual (semi-electric), sport
- "Full electric", comfort/standard
- "Full electric", sport
- Adaptive sport

Re. the full electrics, I'm pretty sure there are two versions, based on my experience and alexb76's post. I've probably also experienced both versions of the manual (semi-electric) seat. I wasn't sure, but sounds like they do indeed exist.

*Isn't there more than one bucket/track seat - one with a fully fixed back and the newer, folding GT2 seat?

The one thing I'm still wondering about the normal (non GT2/3) seats - because I forgot to asks - is: any differences between 997.1 and 997.2?

Thanks in advance again for helpful info!

Er, the one other thing I'm wondering ...

On the 996, the wider wings or bolsters at the shoulder level were optional, and could be had with either normal or sport seats (or perhaps they came with the sport seat, and were optional with the standard base). Anyone know if there are similar options with 997 seats?

I've never seen two versions of electric sport seats, only the adaptives.

AFAIK, the only version sold with the 997's were the folding variety. Other cars / vintages had the fixed back.

Google 2009 997 order guide and you should be able to get a pdf copy.

Jeez, why so confused on seats mate? I listed them all, that site lists them with pics, and it's pretty simple,I really don't even understand the question. 997.1 and .2 seats are the same, difference being .2 offered cooling seats as an option, and GT2 seats were only offered in .2 forward.

I have no clue how 996 was offered, we listed all of the seats.

This is the list as posted earlier, don't confuse yourself further!

- Comfort manual -- i.e. standard
- Comfort electric
- Sport manual

- GT2 Bucket seats
