Yes, it needs to be in race mode (or preferably CST off) to limit the electronic nannies.

It will be interesting to see how the new 991 GT3 compares to the 458.

silly.
the 458 rides and steers fairly soft. In fact the one thing i dont like about it is the soft steering. I have no doubt the 991 GT3 will be firmer.

however P doesnt have anything that directly competes w/ the 458.
rumors are they are working on one to slot in the $250k price point.

Yes Porsche is working on a mid-engine V8 based from the Audi R8/Lambo platform. It will be placed between the 911 TT and the 918. It will compete against the 458 and the Mclaren MC-12

Thats pretty big range. Dont forget about a panny coupe, gt2, and perhaps a non hybrid 918
