How Much Oil Does Your Car Go Through?

Burning Brakes
About a 1,000 miles I add a quart.

A little under a 1L for approximately 5000kms.
It all depends on how you drive your car. If I leave my car in auto ( pdk ) the engine never revs higher than 2-3k but I like to drive the car in Sport or manual mode which revs a lot higher and uses a little more oil.

I've put a 1,000 miles worth of short trips on mine since the last oil change and the oil level has increased from full to one bar over full I need to take it out for a nice, long drive

Where do you find the best deal to buy the oil? Do you use a different viscosity for daily drivers in hot/humid Gulf Coast vs. garage queen vs. track day warrior, or do you just stick with what's in the owners manual?

Sometime you can find specials at auto parts stores, but good ole Walmart is the cheapest. As far as viscosity, I do not track my car but I live in Oklahoma so the weather goes from hot to cold and vise versa pretty quick, so I stick with the recommended. I think it has a wide band of safe temp.

I've seen a lot of threads on here & other forums discussing oil (viscosity & consumption). I'm new to Porsche (less than 1 month) and am trying to think of things I should keep on hand for general maintenance. Engine oil for the occasional top-off comes to mind, and I had planned to do 10k mi oil change intervals (half of mfg rec, for my daily driver in Houston).
On my 2008 Z06 (gone now), clutch dust would accumulate in the clutch fluid after spirited driving. I have not heard of this on any P-car. Can anybody confirm this is not a worry for 997.2?

ive never heard of any clutch dust issues re any 997 so i woudlnt worry about that. re oil changes i would recommended changing sooner, 6-8k miles.
i think Porsche recommended oil changes are a little on the delusional side.
beautiful car and color blue steel.
