UV Protection in OEM Glass
Thinking about getting my windows tinted. Lot's of sun here in FL and I've had some skin cancer problems most likely from my years of boating. I was thinking that the UV protection numbers cited by the tint manufacturers are most likely comparisons to plain glass and may overstate the advantages relative to auto glass. I did a search and found this article which I thought I would share.
The rear and side widows on my car came from the factory with some tint to them. I'm wondering if anyone knows how much UV protection they afford?

Factory tinted tempered glass cuts UV about 50%. Window films can block UV nearly completely, if you don't want dark tint you can even get clear!
I think the person in the picture must have done a hell of a lot of driving with the window down in full sun...

having the windows tinted as much as the law allows is 100% more effective than bare glass, the point is that when you have the window down and the direct sun is burning your arm, you raise the window and feel how much better it feels
