You just need to decide how you want to be perceived, as in, "you are what you drive"....
C4S = confident, energetic, fun person
Audi = wanting to feel younger, but too boring and stoic to get a sports car
Range Rover = well-to-do soccer mom
Any questions?
Oh wait.... I forgot, you already have two of those cars. So I guess you are... a confident, energetic, well-to-do soccer mom.
OK, I'm just having a little fun with you.
As Marine Blue stated, get a 991 C4S. Problem solved! You can thank us later!

Never having owned an Audi, if I could only have 1 car to drive, it would be the RR, hands down. I would get rid of everything else, including the 911.
And, just based on experience, I'd venture to guess the RR naysayers haven't owned one or taken any extended road trips in one of the newer models. Absolutely the finest road vehicle available with 4WD go anywhere, capabilities, IMHO.
Fortunately, I don't have to make that decision...

Let me jump in here as I've owned 2 997 4S's (a 2008 4S and a 2012 4 GTS), a 2005 RR Westminster (their top of the line, limited edition full size) and a 2010 Cayenne GTS. In my view, the RR is a beautiful piece of junk compared to the Porsches (and I have friends/colleagues that own brand new RR's and they agree). The build quality on the RR doesn't even come close to Porsche. I learned the names, children's names and favorite colors of the people at RR service given how many times I had to bring that thing in for various fixes. Hands down, the RR was the least reliable car I've ever owned and if I was in the OP's position, I'd go with the 4S (the "swiss army knife" of 911s) or if I wanted an SUV, I'd pick up the Cayenne GTS. Couldn't love either of them more.

I live in Jersey City and my DD is a 911 (though I do have an old BMW 325i for airport relative pickups and 4 person beach days). I've found that there's really only a few times a year when you NEED another car due to weather. During those times just take a car service or take the train to CT or just hole-up at your place in NYC with some movies. Those costs will be far lower than having a second car.

997.24S. If you have to drive in really, really bad weather - rent a 4WD. For the other 340 days, you will love the Porsche more than the compromise. Plus it sounds like you dont have a family to worry about.

I believe their build quality has improved significantly since 2005. I'm on my second HSE and neither one EVER went in for anything other than routine service. The older ones, I agree with you. The newer ones, not so much. My 911 always has something not quite right, including squeaks and rattles. Nothing in the RR.
As I said, I have friends with new RRs and they're still junk...especially compared to a 997. No comparison. Your experience is the exception to the rule, as evidenced by the vehicles' relative resale values.

I'm looking to downsize to a single vehicle. The current stable includes the aforementioned Range Rover and Porsche. My dealer, Danbury Audi, has a 2014 A7 in stock with all I'm seeking. I'm looking for any and all feedback from the group about what your feelings are on the differences you've seen or experienced in these vehicles that perhaps I failed to consider in my decision.
I live in Manhattan and drive back to Danbury, CT every other weekend or so. I plan on driving all winter, so I will use winter tires on any vehicles I keep. It's just me! No kids or wife or pets. I like to drive! I PROMISE I didn't hit 100mph on the twisties just north of the GWB on the West Side Highway this morning (if you live near Manhattan, you KNOW how often that section is!) in my 911. I like sportiness and zip, so the Audi could get pretty awesome with a little help from the people at Stasis. But I also love the comfort the Range Rover provides.
Confused??? Do your worst!
