Default Bilstein B16 Damptronics: yes or no?

I know this topic has been discussed a lot, and I have searched everything around it but i still would like some feedback.
Here it goes:
- 997.2 CS2 2009 PDK used neither as a track car nor as a DD, rather as a weekend toy on twisting fast roads. The only thing non-stock on it is lower control arms for a more GT3 like geo.

What I am looking to achieve is a more GT3 like feeling of the suspension in terms of precision (less floaty, more planted)
As side advantages: the slightly lower ride (thinking -15mm) and a more high quality feel overall in terms of damping

What I do not want is
-to ruin the car's ride over bumpy roads
-to face issues with the coilovers (I ve read various noise related posts)

I ve spoken with a Bilstein engineer who told me that I should expect a big improvement in handling and feel with a ride somewhere in between Carrera stock and GT3 (in normal mode)

Could anyone give me some feedback pls? (I know ride comfort is highly subjective that is why I set the Carrera - GT3 comparison as a benchmark)

Am I on the right track? Or should I be looking at a different solution? (ex. B6 damptronics?)

I have the PSS-10 set up on my car so I'm not able to comment on B16. However, you might want to check on sway bars. A good set of sway bars would help get you most of what you want, other then the ride height. I have RSS sway bars and drop links, and they're great. You also could look into Tarret and maybe TPC. I'm trying to figure out if TPC are much better than RSS.
The TPC guys modify Damptronics - often just the fronts, for a sportier set-up. That might be too much for your purpose, but they do know their stuff. You might want to check into their thoughts and maybe get their sway bars.

I'm having a similar debate ref my 997 targa at the moment, similar requirements, torn between the full b16 or the b6 PASM dampers only,

I have heard great things about the B6 damptronics (which are a new part developed for the 997.2 as they have a new code since 2012).
It seems they are an upgraded quality damper which give better control and handling + better quality damping as they are a mono tube design, without any adverse concequences on the ride comfort, while maintaining stock height and springs.

That said, this is a minimum risk, minimum interference with the stock set-up strategy, and as such is a mild upgrade.

Every suspension specialist I have enquired seems to agree that the B16 will bring an important transformation in handling but deteriorate the ride significantly.

I will probably go to the B16 damptronics direction.

I have Damptronics on my car. They are stiffer...normal mode is more like the stock sport setting and sport is stiffer with Damptronics. For a weekend toy for some track or auto cross events they are really good.
I also have adjustable sway bars and those helped too. These 2 mods made the car much more gt3 like.

Mike:

How much of an advantage, if any, do you find the aero kit vs the normal pop up spoiler?

At the track I noticed a lot at Daytona at speeds over 130mph. Especially at over 150mph the car felt more planted but still could use more aero at higher speeds. At Sebring I noticed it in Bishops Bend some but more when braking into T17 a 140mph. Under 110 or so I don't notice much I feel. The pop up spoiler seemed pretty useless to me..up or down no real difference and at Daytona my 997.2 no GT3 aero got a little float to it where my GTS with aero did not.
