Is there a General Consensus the Rear Wiper option on a 911?
Hey guys, this seems like a classic element to the 911 and kind of adds a bit of "sport" to the look. Although, it's easily arguable that the lines are cleaner and more true without the rear wiper.
Is there a concensus on this forum about which looks better?

The rear wiper is absolutely useless on our cars when in motion. And visually it only detracts from the lines of the car. Not nearly as much as it did on 964s or 993s but it's there. My TT has it (it was a no cost option that the original owner must've clicked) and I wish there was a simple way to get rid of it but there isn't. That's really the only part of the car I'm not in love with.

Got a DIY on that? I glanced at it and it didn't look like it would pop off easily. Would love to get rid of it.

Word of caution if removing. I one removed a rear wiper on a car and accidentally turned it on. Since it is not installed, there was no way to know it was on. Ended up burning out the motor on it...not that you really care!

I have ruled out buying a few cars due to the wiper.

I have the wiper and honestly never even notice it. I never plan to drive in the rain, but got caught in it today and used it while backing up, I was glad I had it.
My 2 cents is if you have it leave it, not worth getting rid of, if you dont just use Rain-X and you will be fine.

As I recall it there's sort of a flap that blends in with the wiper arm where it attaches to the window. Pry that flap open with a small screwdriver and there's nut hidden behind it that holds the wiper in place. Unscrew the nut and remove the wiper. Takes minutes. I painted the nut black and put it back on after I removed the wiper. Makes it blend in with the window and hard to see unless you know what you're looking for. Big improvement imo.

What is this paranoia about driving in the rain ??? I just have never gotten the point of it. Do people really think that the car is going to melt or turn into a pile of rust? These and other cars are meant to be driven.
