Default Front Lip Scuffing &%&^%$!

I am sure there is no real solution to this other than perfecting acute angles on ramps, avoiding bad roads and parking lots filled with speed bumps but every time I hear that HCCCCKKKKKKK sound I want to throw up on my lap.

Any ideas other than grin and bear it?

Beautiful car!

I don't know about the front lip on your particular car, but on a 997.2 the plastic piece on the bottom of the front lip that rubs is a disposal wear item. I changed the one on my car after hitting a tire carcass one night. It was like $70, and 10 minutes to change. It just snaps in.

Its hard to tell from the pic, but i think u have a GT3 style front. It so, the bottom lip can also be treated as a wear item and you can just keep purchasing this. Of course it'll need to be painted

Looks like yours is painted, I decided not to paint mine. I take a razor blade to it and cut some of it off, now it doesn't scrap as much.

On my 997.1 cabrio with Bilstein coilovers & 1/2" lowering, I have some scraping on the center bottom of the bumper and have had to have both inner fender liners replaced because they were all beat up. The car will ground out on unavoidable roadway features, even at stock ride height.

I have a gt3 aero and I put a heavy duty thin door edge guard along the lower edge of the plastic aero lip. That way it takes a beating and not the lip directly. It stays on too and takes a lickin but keeps on tickin. It makes the scraping sound more tolerable.

Thanks for the replies guys -- I do have a spare one, but its nice to know I can more at suncoastparts when necessary (thanks ng311) and I am going to try the door edge guard this weekend (thanks svb).

Mine is painted, but not matched to body -- just good old tremclad semi-gloss black. Easy to maintain though, just sand off the chunky bits and give it a few sprays.

I could not drive my car when I got a koni car bumper on it - it is like standard aerokit one.
I reverted back to stock bumper with lip/spoiler on it. does not look as sleek and is not as efficient but it sits twice higher compared to aerokit one. makes life a bit more manageable.

switch, VERY nice shot of the lady washing the car. bravo! love the sleeve also!! as for the front end - scream and bear it? puke and bear it? i wanted a GT3 nose on my S until i realized how much i was already scraping the standard nose with eibachs. got over that desire (but would still prefer to have the look).

I have actually been contemplating switching the rear spoiler and front lip back to stock -- just have no idea where I would get parts and if I would also need a new bumper.
