Default How to Fix/Secure rear seat bottoms properly (front "velcro" clip came undone )

the back seats have 2 velcro pads on the carpet that then cling to the velcro under the seat.. when removing my back seat bottoms to clean the leather properly and thoroughly the velcro on the fronts stayed clung to the seat and came out of the 3 little holes in the carpet.

looking at the piece, its 3 clips that clip into white plastic with holes under the carpet.. BUT you cannot simply push it into the white plastic because it goes down as you push instead of locking in.

tried to "pull" on the carpet here and there to get to that area to "hold up" the white plastic and secure the clips but no luck.

curious what the proper method is to get to those pieces to secure them properly.. the carpet seems to go all the way up the seat and sits under the center bolt down area for the fold down tops.

do i try and pull up from the bottom..

do i try and undo the seat tops and then go that direction...

or regardless of if/when i get it done, they will simply pop out again so just leave as is?

Which side of the Velcro was attached to the carpet, fuzzy or plastic hooks? If it is the fuzzy you might just be able to use some industrial Velcro the will catch on to the carpet itself. I have seen this done in other applications. Try HomeDepot

There is Velcro on seat bottom. Sticks to Velcro on a "clip" that clip clips into plastic on other side of carpet.

I'll take pics tomorrow. Trying to just access that area of carpet but I'm not sure if its glued down or what cause won't budge

this happened to me as well. what happens is the velcro is so damn strong it ripped the plastic backing off when you remove your seat.

Not sure how they got it back on, but this is covered under warranty FYI.

I managed to fix this by poking a small (but strong) screwdriver through the carpeting from the rear. This was used to hold the white plastic retainer in place and also provides pressure to allow me to snap the velcro piece's tabs in place. The holes in the carpet are too small to detect and are covered with the seat.

Its still a bitch though.

anyone else have an idea? or a way to remove carpet a little to get under there to hold the white plastic up to allow black clips to insert in

Riley,

Maybe you could put a couple of short flat had screws through the carpet and into the white plastic to pull the plastic up tighter to the underside of the carpet. Other than taking the carpet out, I can't think of any other way to do this.
