Default Aluminum Sport Pedals

I recently purchased a set of aluminum sport pedals from Suncoast Parts for my 997.2 and I'm not entirely clear on the installation (the installation instructions provided were also not clear)...I searched the forums, but didn't find my answer...

The clutch and brake seem straight forward...pull the rubber cover off...line-up the new pedals...drill...and secure.

My question is for the dead pedal and the gas...I don't see any easy way to remove either...do I install the new pedals over the dead pedal and gas pedal, respectively?

If anyone has done this and can provide some insight...that is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

- Kevin

Yep, just drill into the existing pedal material and use self-tapping screws. At least that's how I did it and it seemed to work.

Thanks, PJorgen.

And the clutch and brake cover are as I described?

Appreciate it!

My car has PDK so I'm clueless about the clutch pedal, but yes to the brake pedal. Pull the rubber thingy off and attach to the metal backing.

For me, the dead pedal and the gas pedal were pretty straight forward. The problem as I saw it was the brake pedal, how could you drill cleanly and straight into the pedal? To perform the task I created a template and used a dremel to make a divot in each of the four marked spots. From there a hand held drill did the trick. Here are some photos.

Thanks, Daberlin! That's really, really helpful. So...you simply lined up the dead pedal and gas pedal over the existing and installed easily?

I had installed some aluminum pedals in my old 996, but I don't recall installing over any existing pedals...which through me off.

Cheers,

- Kevin

Bringing back a slightly old thread...

So how do you guys like these pedals?

Does the throttle pedal raise up a little with the install? That seems to be my biggest issue when trying to heel/toe as I tend more roll my foot over to blip vs. hitting it with my heel.

Hi there,

I'm thinking about getting a set of these pedal. But would like to know if they are slippery when wet?

Thanks.
