Default Anyone running an FVD exhaust on a 997.2 C2S Cab?

With the search down for awhile i've been doing my research on 6speed, and it seems based on videos that the FVD exhaust has the sound i'm looking for. Lower, deeper tone, not too raspy which I hated in my E46M3. Listening to a video of the 997 w/Tubi at Sharkwerks.com revving the engine brings back unpleassant memories of my old M3's raspiness.

I've chatted a bit with Rhonda at FVD and she recommends their sport muffler without removing the factory center muffler for a Cab. I'm curious if anyone has used any FVD exhausts on their cabs, or since the search here is dead, id be interested in hearing about any other exhausts used on the cabs. I want the sound increase, but with a convertible it's easy to go overboard and left unhappy so I need to be careful with my choice. Thanks for any feedback!

I have it on my .2 cab. Love it. It is a little loud on cold start, but once it settles in, it sounds incredible! I can shift each gear at 3k to be less conspicuous, but at full throttle, I love it! I do have the 3rd/center muffler replacement.

I am not disappointed.

I'm on the other extreme of sound with their performance exhaust system on my 997.1 S coupe: long race headers, 200 cell cats, cans, and tips. http://www.fvd.us/us/en/Porsche-0/99...ps_4x90mm.html

Civilized sound under normal driving conditions... hit the gas and the sound is unbelievable. I thought my wife was going to make me return it but after a week she grew to appreciate the intoxicating sound. This doesn't help you much as you have a cab and a different system from FVD... but I can attest towards the quality of their products and the support/customer service you're buying into. GL and post some pics when you get it.

Thanks guys! Do either of you get any drone when cruising with your setups?

Dave for my point of reference do you recall the exact name/model of the system you had installed? They have four different setups with the center muffler replacement to really get one confused.

A quick search of you tube yielded pretty good results. Wish the website had clips - kind of crazy they don't!
You could start here:

They do, the website is just pretty cluttered. Check the link here for 997.2 systems, and click the red video boxes. Problem is they're not all accurate. For example the one recommended to me, BES 997 250 00S Sports Muffler without center bypass, has a video of the system with the bypass which she tells me increases the sound quite a bit.

What really stands out to me with these FVD's is the deeper tone compared to the Tubi or AWE to name a couple, that seem more higher pitched and raspy.

M&M (famous race exhaust company) makes the exhaust parts for FVD...really great products and Rhonda at FVD is awesome to deal with as the entire FVD company.
