Default Yet another new 997.2 thread...

I finally got the chance to take a few photos of my car. I'm loving it so far - it's a first Porsche for me and a something of a dream come true.

It's a pretty bare bones car with just:

267 Self Dimming Mirrors
342 Heated Front Seats
619 Bluetooth Phone Interface
680 Bose High End Sound Package
870 Universal Audio Interface

But it does have the GT3 seats as pictured in this thread:

https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...ort-seats.html

Overall - so far so good. It's an amazing machine. I am lusting after Porsche Sport Exhaust w. quad tips, 19" wheels and SSK to start with, so if you're in SoCal and looking to sell any of this send me a PM!

Congrats and welcome I love that last picture, very cool. Are you going to tint the windows at all ? I would also consider a LED Lighting Kit if you haven't already. Enjoy that's a great looking 997 you have.

That looks like one of the '09 launch cars, is it? I looked at one just like it when I picked up mine, but ended up with the white/pdk launch car instead.

Bruce in Philly has an '09 S, and may want to trade his 19s for some 18s.

You'll have a blast driving it, and wake up to a new dream each day. Enjoy!

Enjoy!

It looks like the version in had too! Probably a launch car!

You will love it! So much performance for "only" 345 bhp! And very driver friendly even as a daily driver.

Congrats!

This may sound naive, but what is a launch car? I presume it's an early 2009 because I have the triangle airbag and not the round one. Which reminds me, I need to add a SportDesign wheel to my list of desired mods.

That's the one - they had the car since November but I had a Z4 Coupe I was trying to sell and didn't want to do a trade. I'm glad I beat you to the punch - what did you get instead?

Launch cars are those initially released to dealers at the launch of the new model. The 997.2 came out in early model year 2009. The C2 with MT was silver/black and equipped like yours, the C2 with PDK was white/stone and equipped a little different. There was also a launch C2S MT, C2S PDK, etc.

What roads are those? Last pic is nice...shows off those hips.

Most 2009 6MT C2 (if not all unless sport wheel specified?) have the triangle airbag. The PDK had the newer style wheel. You can retro with the sport wheel, but getting the "newer style" wheel is a little more work. I'd explored this with Suncoast and just decided to have my triangle wheel recovered so I didn't have to bother with airbags and that stuff.

I forgot how high my non-spasm C2 was! I put H&R springs on mine and it sits much, much nicer now. Maybe something to add to your list. Eibach, Techart, H&R are common unless you want to go the full coilover route. If you get OEM wheels a 5mm spacer puts them out just a big to sit a little more flush.

So many options for exhaust....

Strange, I've got a manual 09 with the circle steering wheel, which I love. But I've seen 09 turbos with the old style steering wheel... Just launch 09 c2s with the triangle wheel?

Gripster, I bought a similar car, except black on black. I was in Ohio and the cross country purchase made me nervous. Enjoy you new car, I know I am enjoying mine!

Sweet! I just drove an '08 with basically those same options, same wheels even. I was floored at how awesome it was (first 997 I'd driven, last Porsche driven was a 996 turbo). Congrats!!!!
