Has your wife ever caught you,.....

Both my son and I do too
Sometimes (just last night) I too go into the garage just to look at my 911.
The thing that really cracks up my wife is that for the first month or two of ownership she would go into the garage for one reason or another and find my 13 year old boy in the car just hanging out. This is probably the same thing I would have done if my Dad had a 911 back in the 70's when I was a kid.

Reminds me of a cartoon in Playboy magazine many many years ago. The husband is busily washing his 911 in the background with the wife commenting in the foreground that she finds this far better than him having an affair with Betty Jo such and such...

Three Wheelin'
I experienced this type of feeling in my first year of ownership; however, once I discovered track days it was all downhill from there. I used to clean, shine, detail the car every other day. Now, I wash it only after several track sessions and only because there is way too much track rubber all over the side panels. Interesting how my passion has morphed. In earlier times I was meticulous with my car's physical appearance, mind you, it was serviced regularly. Now, the car gets serviced every 2-3 track events and often time doesn't even get washed. All of my cars get driven like I stole them, including the Cayenne. I guess this is the Jeckyl side of Porsche ownership? Hyde loves to spend quality time admiring the car where as Jeckyl loves to drive the car hard.
