Default Camber options for 2009 Carrera 4S?

I have been reading to find solutions to add more negative camber on my 4S. The car has PASM also. Unfortunately the GT3 LCAs do not fit since the car is 4wd.

I saw that Tarrett came out with camber plates for the 4wd 997s which can give an additional -1 degree of camber so i am assuming the fron could go closer to -2.

Does anyone have similar solutions? I have to contact RSS and see if their control arms fit the 4S.

Obviously i could do coilovers but i want to keep the car close to stock...

Any ideas or experiences?

I had GT3 LCAs installed on my 07 4S with otherwise stock suspension. There is a limit to the amount of negative camber you can achieve because of the driveshafts, but you can get enough for a hybrid street/track setup. I used to run about 1.5 degrees but it's possible to do more. I haven't heard of a fitment issue with the 09s. Have you checked with Suncoast?

That's a mod I'd like to add.

Yes they do. You were misinformed.

Hey, how's your tire wear? What exact setting did you get? Is it fine on the street?

I am about to the same thing this summer, got the LCA, but haven't figure out what setting should I use. I was thinking of going to GT3 setting which is like -1.2/-1.3...

Well then i will have to ask other shops and vendors too... I ll find the email and post the answer...

Maybe then we should educate the fellas... They would probably sell more!

How much negative camber you could go with the GT3 LCAs on the 4S that has PASM and it is lower than the standard cars? How much would be too much for the front axles, bearings, etc?

From what I know and have read -2 degrees is a good number for a mainly street driven car, but it is still enough to use more aggressive R-compound tires...

Exactly how do you know the GT3 LCAs will fit on a 997.2 C4S?

Not apples/apples but I put a set of Techart springs on my '11' GTS along with Tarett camber plates and I maxed out the front camber at -2.0. The rear dialed in at -2.5 without any modifications.

when i contacted Tarett i was told that their camber plate set can increase the camber by about -1.1 degrees. Assuming that the factory maxes out to about -0.6 degrees then i am looking at about -1.7 degrees...

They also told me that on a lowered car it could possibly go up to -2.1 degrees which is close to what you have.

Since my car has PASM and it is lowered by 10mm to begin with doesn't it count? Or do i hve to further lower the car?

Perhaps slightly off topic, but I have a 2012 C4S with PASM as well and I find the car "nervous" at times, usually under heavy acceleration.

There's no question I'm new to the 911 and rear engine cars, but would more negative camber have any impact in terms of alleviating this?

My GTS has PASM as well. The Techart springs dropped the car another 1/2". I would think you would need a further drop of 1/2" to get to -2. It's possible to elongate the top strut mounting holes a little to pick up some additional camber. Due to the geometry of the stamping I doubt you get all the way to -2.0.

FithGear

It may be as simple as getting a proper alignment. Many of our cars did not come from the factory with best alignment.

thanks for the feedback man! i really appreciate it!

IS your GTS 4wd?

My main concern is having issues with the front axles getting a weird angle or too much camber where the other stock components cannot handle it.
One of my older cars, a Lancer Evolution, was 4WD but i did not have any issues because i had installed coilovers where they have camber plates and full adjustability...
I will talk to my DE tech shop too to get opinions...
