No logos on the windshield that I recall. There might be en etching of a Porsche part# in the corner.

No Porsche logo on mine. Just the manufacturer's info (Sekurit, etc. Made in Belgium) on the lower left corner.

there are no aftermarket suppliers of windshields for 911's. all of them are OEM, even replacements

I noticed my 997.2 has small PORSCHE logo on the bottom of the rear windshield.

"Rear windshield"? You mean rear glass?

If you look at this in the rear view mirror, it reads "Porsche" correctly, i.e. not backwards as you would expect reading something in the mirror.

If you look at the same "Porsche" on the rear glass from outside the car, it also reads correctly.

PFM me thinks...

I just bought a 2009 C2S and I want to confirm that my front windshield is the original factory installed windshield. On the lower left corner it says Saint-Gobain Sekurit
made In Czech Republic
Is this the factory windshield?

Living in a place where it is normal to break and replace a glass windshield about once per year, due to stones kicked up by tires, I wonder why anybody would care about the source of one's windshield? It has zero effect on the car's value.

You are absolutely correct that this should have no effect on car value. It is just that the car is new to me and I'd like to now if the windshield is original, that's all.

It should have a small letter "p" on any Porsche supplied windshields. They could be manufactured in Belgium, Chech Republic, Germany... There are some Taiwan based replacements which you probably don't want.

how do you know if it's a porsche windshield? well, does it have multiple cracks and chips from constant stone hits, and is it covered in pits, sometimes reducing visibility to nothing in early morning/late afternoon sunlight? then yes, you have original glass.

That is pure ingenious on Porsche's part.

It is like a cooler. It keeps things warm, but also keeps things cold. How does it know which one to do???

NO!!!
He really ment "rear winshield"!
You see, it may be confusing at first, but Porches have engines in the trunk, tunks are under the hood, the ignition switch is on the wrong side of the steering column too, so "rear windshied" makes perfect sense after all...
