Not sure if it's a regional deal or not, but I just picked up 3 cases of Mobil 1 0W40 at O'Reilly's Auto Parts for $5.99 a quart!!!
Just though I'd pass that along.........

Got a great deal at pep boys a month back. $5 a quart with online coupons.
But alas the reason I post. Yesterday received $100 traffic fine from the rosemont traffic camera on the night I got the oil. Left turn thru a red light. So my oil change was really $155. :+(

Years ago I got a camera ticket for a rolling stop right turn at a red light. I didn't know it even happened until I got the ticket, and a link that took me to a site where I got to watch myself slow nearly to a stop, look both directions, verify it was safe, and continue on with my turn. Red light cameras are a joke.
Sorry OP... went off on a rant. Thanks for the heads up about the deal on Mobil 1!

+1... great price on the MB-1 and thanks for sharing.
Sorry to hear about your tickets my brothers... those cameras suck. My entry fee onto that list of "red light turning band of brothers" was $500... and it was a right turn. Sadly it was in a Hertz rental and not the 911 during one of my business trips up to NorCal(Burlingame). I recall a time and place a long, long time ago where this type of highway robbery would at minimum get us a patrol car, lights flashing, sirens, a written ticket with my signature of acknowledgement, maybe even an opportunity to get a warning, etc... the works! There's no honor/humanity these days in the highwaymen being a flash from an unseen CCD then a computer generated email... it takes all the fun out of "the game" and feels like another case in a very long series of "taxation w/o representation".

I also have a friend who always drives newish cars. He never puts plates on them for this very reason. He just keeps them in the trunk. I think it's asking for trouble, but he's been doing it for the last 10 years with no problem.

Not that this helps you but apparently in Los Angeles you don't have to pay:

There has been BIG controversy over this issue in LA for a long time. The research I have read states that not only do the cameras cost more to the cities to maintain than they bring back in fines, but they were actually causing more accidents, as some people would slam on their brakes when they were close to the intersection and got a yellow light, worried that they would get "caught on tape" if they tried to safely continue across.
And, again, apologies to the OP for the hijack. It looks like we need a thread devoted just to camera tickets!!

Then again, you did actually do it (not disputing that, right? No full stop as the rules require)...
Cameras are always the bane of those that break the rules :-)
They call it a "California Stop" across the country for a reason
