Damaged Ruf Rep = New Wheels - Vossen CV3 Concave
I just ordered a new set of wheels - Vossen CV3 Concave wheels (8.5 x 20 & 11 x 20). I thought I'd never go with a 20" wheel, but I love the look of this wheel, and although they're relatively heavy, no more than my Ruf reps.
Several weeks ago I hit a pot hole late at night (didn't see it until too late) and damaged my front bumper and left front radiator and bracket. The insurance company replaced that, and also included the repair of a nick to the edge of the front left wheel, as well as replacement of the front tire. I took the tire to the place where I purchased it and they said it was mostly cosmetic with the rim protector getting slightly shredded. Good enough, or so I thought. I took my car to the Porsche dealer on Saturday for an annual service and full inspection, and while there I wanted the rear lowered to be square with the front. I received a phone call with bad news that my left rear rim was cracked - barrel was shot.
Well, I'm been considering a different look with a silver wheel and found this beauty. My car is lowered pretty much like the picture below with the same wheels. The video sold me!
Special thanks to Sean at Vivid Racing for the hook up and Mike at Vossen for information. I'm going to be running 235/30-20 and 305/25-20. The wheels arrive Friday.
I love the look of the car stock with this stance and wheels.
By the way, if anyone is interested in a set of 3 Ruf reps (2 front, 1 rear) with 4 tires with a lot of tread left let me know. I'll sell the set really cheap - local preferred. Replacement of the damaged wheel can be ordered through ROTtec.

The state may pay the bill if it has been reported before(Pot hole). I did it in Ohio. Loved the Ruf's

20" Rim & Rear Tire Size Question
I'm trying to order a set of tires in a 305/25-20 rears, and matching a 235/30-20 for the fronts. My options seem to be very limited. I called Discount Tire and they won't sell any tire with a load factor of less than 10 for the rears, even if they're classified as Extra Load (XL). On the other hand, Tire Rack states they'll work.
Anyone who's running 20" can you chime in on what you're running for the rears and who's the manufacturer?

I just think 20" is to big for these cars. I am not into the slammed Porsche, I prefer a little air like your current wheels.
I guess I am showing my age. I do not think they look bad, but if they were 19" I think they would look better, they will be easy to clean though!!!!!!!!!!

Car looks nice but you do realize that lowering your car reduces the travel of the shocks? And moving from 19's to 20's isn't exactly pothole friendly? Fingers crossed you don't hit any more potholes. dave

I understand the 20" size and I wasn't going to go this route until I saw these wheels on the car above. The edge on the lip takes up some of the size or so it seems. Regarding showing your age, yeah, I hear you as I'm at the double nickle, but just took another perspective at least on these 20".

Yeah, I know. I'm running coil overs and so far it's pretty good - other than that d*amned pothole late at night - I wasn't paying attention and was on an unfamiliar road.

20" wheels = FAIL
With a 997 car 20" wheels will hurt handling performance plus just my personal, preference but the super thin tire sidewall look silly and ghetto.
