I only have it on the passenger side. Go figure!
I'm tempted to pull the door cards in some life.

I took my door apart a few times now and could not find the reason for the problem. To be honest, I did not put much time into it as I was in there for other reasons (new speakers, door latch micros witch, add Macassar lid). There is a second door panel in there and getting that one off is a nightmare and you must do this to get at the window mechanisms. The main door, what we pull on, is pretty darn easy. That second one is just awful to get off.

Yeah, I've seen this too... it's annoying but might have something to do with the following:
Close your door properly... or more accurately remind your passenger not to close the door by pushing on the window... lol
I had this girl who always closed the door when getting out of the car by flipping the door shut via the frameless window, and she would make a stink every time that I told her not to close the door that way. Till one day when she did it on her own car one time too many, and the window just fell inside the door.
She broke whatever mechanism is in place over there because the window was torquing back and forth every time she did it.
Nonetheless, I'm sure that using the door handle to close the door rather than the glass will result in the window getting torqued significantly less.
This may or may not result in less streaking, but I find it more than coincidental that her side of the car had more streaks on it than mine did.
I had the passenger side glass replaced and it did not help. I had the drivers side apart at a shop, did not help, I pointed out the problem, but no solution. I think either moisture or the angle of the glass retracting creates residue that streaks up onto the glass. I find it's more on the interior glass than exterior.
I have the same issue on my drivers side but it really doesn't bug be I just keep a terry cloth in my drivers door ...There's really no permanent fix for this .... no big deal.
