Hello I have targa 4s 2007 , I have 55300km on the clock , it's 6 speed how long the clutch will last , what the normal life for the clutch

I've heard people replacing from 40-100k miles.

It really depends on how the car has been driven. Slip the clutch, do a lot of hard launches and it can be toast in 20K miles or less. Use good shifting discipline and don't dump the clutch for hard launches and people get over 100K from them. I don't really know what to call "average" life expectancy, though.

Usually I drive the car hard as if am racing all the time , today I felt the pedal a bit higher than normal , so is that a sign or I still have some life , still no slipping , drive normal but the pedal is lighter too

Ok, now I'm screwed, sticky clutch peddle, car barley moves, what do I do?

Get the car flat bedded to a shop for a new clutch.

When you get the car back stop driving the car like you are racing all the time.

This eats clutches.

You can tell how much clutch you have left by clutch take up as you release the cltuch pedal. If not much happens till near end of clutch pedal release you will need a replacement soon.

Ya but today in the morning it's was perfect and this happened suddenly , I have a BMW m roadster and when clutch was almost done it gave me signed , this happened out of no where , any thoughts

I thought the 997 clutch was self adjusting, so this trick doesn't work. Or am I mistaken?

The clutch on the "S" is self adjusting but not the standard. T will just keep adjusting itself until its gone.

Not true....the Porsche Clutch is self adjusting so you won't notice any difference in pedal position during the life of the clutch.

So I guess I need a new clutch from what I understand . But now the holidays , so it will go till rite after the new year :( , thx for the help guys , I'll let you know what happens and the damage , merry x mas to everyone and happy new year , cheers

Driving the car hard isn't the problem, its how you use the clutch. I tracked my Boxster quite a bit and I have 55K miles on the original clutch. I don't expect to have to replace it anytime soon. Go a little easier on the launch, don't slip the clutch so much and get your foot off that pedal and onto the dead pedal when you're not shifting. Or decide that your driving style is worth the routine cost of a new clutch.
