Porsche makes some nice alternatives, this one would be my choice:

If you're looking for a thick wheel, IMHO TechArt makes the best looking aftermarket steering wheels for Porsche. But they are very expensive.

Cheaper alternatives can be found at DCTMS:

Dallas Steering wheel can re-wrap an OEM wheel with thicker padding:

Do you have the radio controls on your wheel?

I switched my stock wheel for a Dallas custom wheel and absolutely love it. I went with thicker leather all around with thumb notches red stitching and red stripe. It is like driving a different car compared to the anemic stock wheel. I ordered on Sunday and it was at my house on Friday. Not sure how they were able to make it that fast but it's awesome

Dallas Customs does first rate work. I am just getting ready to ship (after the holidays) my original '71 914-6 steering wheel to them to recover it and double pad the rim. I can't wait to see it when it is done.

Do you mind if I inquire what the price was?
Thanks.

Dallas Custom does great work and they have a very fast turn-around time (I've had them do two steering wheels). But, they have gotten expensive - don't know what they're charging now, afraid to find out.

Just bought an Agency Power, made in Germany. Enough of this Taiwan crap. I hope it a you get what you paid for, we will see in a month. Ordered one with perforated silver tab on top and silver stitching.

I want to say it was $750 and that included a $300 core charge so maybe $450 ish. The wheel feels great, it looks amazing and people compliment it all the time. The fact that it takes 6 minutes to swap it out was a huge bonus

Holy! The prices seem to be climbing fast and in large increments!

That actually sounds like a decent price. Thanks.

I have done nothing else to the car that was worth $450 besides the steering wheel and the fister mufflers. I touch the steering wheel everytime I drive. Makes the largest difference in all my mods
