I love the sport button once I leave my master planned community. They are building new homes across from my subdivision and theres quite a bit of rough roads while construction is going on. It's great on smooth roads, but brutal on rough roads.

For me, the important change for 6 speeds is that PSM interventions take place later so that the driver can maneuver the vehicle with greater agility at its performance limits, without having to dispense with the assistance of PSM in emergency situations. This paraphrased from the owners manual. dave

Has anyone actually installed the sport button switch themselves first before bringing the car to the dealership to have the software installed by Porsche? If so how easy was it?

No, the upgrade does not add PASM but if you have PASM I think it plays with it.

Yes, I have PASM and the Sport software with the chrono, when you engage the Sport button, it also engages the PASM (which can be turned off separately only after engaged). If you have PSE, it also turns that on.

I am currently debating retrofitting my car with PSE as my car is not equipped with it but my car is a non "S" Carrera 4... so the question for me is whether to install the PSE or just put that money towards a 4S that already has the Sport Chrono package, PASM and the PSE... but I am sure that will not be so easy to find.

The dealer tech who installed sport mode told me that it would be very costly and difficult to install PASM on my car.

What does the Sport Chrono package give you if you already have sport mode and PASM and PSE besides a clock on the dash?

My next upgrade will address the exhaust.

Actually, I think most of the C4S cars I have seen have the Sports Chrono package, so I wouldn't think it would be that hard to find one. People that pay up for the S are generally inclined to go all the way

I noticed this, but do most also get PSE along with the Sport Chrono package?

Upshifts and downshifts are much closer to where I would have them with a manual 6 spd. Fun factor has returned for me.

Didn't really push it because the streets are damp and wet after 2 weeks of rainy weather. Tried sport+ in manual mode through 1st into 2nd but traffic and street conditions were bad so I backed down.

Bottom line... This is the best performance upgrade I have made with any car I have ever owned. I was so disappointed with this car I was getting ready to trade it away.
congrats Geo- I'm going for this mod next.. what did the dealer charge for the install? Any particular suggestions (things to be on the look out for) when I bring mine in to get this done, or is this plug and play by dealer?

I got my install thrown in when i bought the car so not sure on cost. it cant be much because it couldn't take more than 15 minutes. It is just changing the button plate at the bottom of the console which takes about 5 minutes at most. Then they have to enable in the software. Depending on if they know where to look or not this shouldnt take more then 10 minutes.

As others have said, on a PDK car this is the best mod possible....even better than an exhaust!

PSE is a separate option so cars with Sports Chrono may or may not have it.

I know that... I was asking if most 4S's were sold with this combo or not
