Default CPO 997.2 – Actual Prices Paid

What are people actually paying for CPO 997.2’s?* The Metro NY area dealers are asking $80K - $90K for the ’11 C2S, CPO, low miles cars.* The majority are closer to $90K.* It appears that these asking prices are way too high.* Year 1 depreciation alone is $30K per NADA.* With that, a new ’11 C2S would be $100K sticker (manual, standard options) less $30K yr 1 depreciation gets to $70K. What are these cars actually selling for or does anyone have actual data points?

Bit of a difficult question to answer. C2/C2S/C4/C4S/GTS/Turbo? Options? Need more specifics on as close to the car you are looking at.

I think a better way to approach it is in terms of percentages off the sticker, per model year, with the average being between 8 & 10%.
It will depreciate more the first year, but less in subsequent years.
I haven't been in the market for a year or so, but I doubt you'll find a decent 2011 for $70k.

i am in the same market, looking for 997.2 C2S or C2.
I never see 2011 in the $70k's. They are all in $80k and $90k.

I want a 2009 C2S, thinking it should be in $50k-$60k, but boy and I wrong,
they are all in $70k+ range.... the 997.1 value is holding up pretty good too.

Until we see 997.1 in the $30k-$40k range, you won't see 997.2 in $50-$70k range...

Can't comment on the 2011's or 997.1's, but you won't find a low mileage '09 C2S for $50-$60K thats for sure. Right now low mileage C2's are popping up at just under $60K.

Well, for a data point, I bought a '09 Cab, non CPO 33k 3 months ago for $61k. I felt that was a good price at that point.

For reference, I bought a CPO 2006 997 C2 with 26K miles for $45K 6 months ago. I was looking for an S but my car was absolutely mint. Could not turn it down and the price was too good.

I do see that C2 base is generally $5k - $10k cheaper than C2S.
And there are so many C2 and C2S to choose from, it is easier to find a good bargain.
C4S is few in between, and it is very hard to find one with the color I want...

"typo before, I meant C4S..."

I'm seeing the same prices you are on the '09 and '11 C2S, but they seem to sit on the dealers lots forever before they sell. I'd love to know what they actually sell for.

Not $50-60K, for a C2S. Unless its extremely high miles or some story. Maybe a base in the 50's. What are you willing to pay?

Highly doubt year 1 depreciation on any current C2 or C2S 911 is 30%. That means I could get a 2012 991 for $80k ($30k+ off $110k+ car). I'd buy that car on the spot. Sorry, not going to happen.

Saw a great 2011 GTS for $91K at Walters. Someone on this site said it was his trade in and they gave him more than that in trade on a 991. So call it $90K for a 2011 GTS. Thats not 30% depreciation in year 1 and its close to as good as you'll get. Work back from there.

There was a post somewhere with US shipment numbers of 911 Porsches. 2009, 10' & 11 numbers were way down. Shockingly low and similar to the 1996, 97' & 98' numbers. Long term I don't think the 997.2 will benefit (hold value and/or appreciate) like the last of the air cooled but for now it appears those lower import numbers are keeping the prices up.

That is a RIDICOLUS price! Was it from a Porsche dealer or private?

That's the lowest I've seen, although it was a bit on the higher milage.
