997 Emergency Kit
We've been taking some long hauls lately to College Station, TX every other week to see our boys... I don't expect any issues from the C2S as I've performed all scheduled and numerous preventative maintenance measures... my main concern, however, is that College Station is 100 miles from the nearest p-dealers in Austin and/or Houston. So I've rev'd the e-Kit in anticipation of the more common and perhaps some unforeseen roadside issues. Just curious as to what others have in their e-Kits and if there is anything I should consider adding.
Inventory List:
- general purpose auto tool kit with socket wrench
- Porsche tool kit
- tow hook
- spare/old s-belt
- spare/old e-coils
- two lug bolt guide
- lock nut key
- 10mm Allen socket... for oil drain plug
- long 24mm open box wrench... to move tensioner pulley
- tire plug kit
- Porsche tire sealant
- Fix-a-Flat tire sealant can
- tire pressure gauge
- multi-tool/plier
- flashlight
- pen
- spare/old pair of prescription glasses
- Porsche compact air pump
- Reflective/emergency triangle
- Rain poncho
- medic kit
- 1 quart of MB-1 oil
- jumper cable
- 2 garbage bags
- detailer's spray and micro cloth... for bug splat removal
- jacket (not shown in pic)
Other things I'm considering as well:
- some energy bars
- maybe some spare plugs

My God man, are you going on a 3000 mile journey behind enemy lines? Are your trying to traverse the Amazon or the Outback? Your car is only 4-5 years old. I've driven Porsches since 1975 an never needed anything more than a quart of oil, a pair of mechanics gloves and a pour spout. As an engineer, when dealing with mission critical variables with questionable reliability, I'm a belt and suspenders guy. But with the kit you're packing where do you put your luggage? A AAA card in your pocket could replace most of your list.
Good luck on your adventure!

LOL, every time I went to see or pick up my kids I had to take the SUV, there was always something large that had to make the trip, furniture or huge pile of laundry that came home with them

Some excellent recommendations... gloves and pain meds have been added. We normally carry 6 bottled waters in the cab which should get us by in a pinch for coolant issues. Would just flush the coolant system once I'm back home to fill it up with proper mixture of 50/50 coolant/distilled H2O. I like the idea of adding a can of Super Blue brake fluid to the kit. Have actually had need of dot 3 previously with my 4Runner years ago due to an issue with the metal brake line... Not having a jack has always bothered me so a small scissor jack might be in order. My old M3 had that and a spare tire. Of course, that added 50lbs of emergency service items to the car. I'd like to keep everything needed for the 911 under 10 lbs if possible. So far most items fit nicely within the frunk's storage compartment with tool kit, s-belt, oil, and detailers spray in the frunk... still plenty of room for luggage and/or other items.
I've always erred on the side of over prepared. Following the 7 P's, Proper Prior Planning Prevents **** Poor Performance, has served me well over the years and has gotten me thru some tight spots along the way so I appreciate all the thoughts on this topic. Of course, AAA and various credit cards are a given along with some personal defense items.
