Don't care about car gas pricing much either but I just paid $8.385 /gallon for 100LL for the airplane yesterday and that kind of stings. Particularly since my airplane's tanks are MUCH bigger than any Porsche's.

More expensive gas = less traffic on the roads for us

It's still nothing like what I was paying in Germany! They say it's due to a pipeline problem and a refinery issue. I sort of hope that it hopes the fence sitters take note as we approach November.

Just paid $4.579 per gallon at Costco. It took 20 minutes to get to the pump.

20 minutes..do u remember the 70's gas issues? odd even numbers on your license plate what day you could purchase gas. Lines were 2 hours long...this was in California as well..Maybe I am dating myself but just was and is now ridiculous. don't you find it odd just before the election

If I recall the 70's problems were partially due to then President Carter's attempt to have the government control gasoline prices. It didn't work then and it certainly won't work now.

We need more pipelines, drilling permit approvals (on Fed land) and increased refinery capabilities. We might also ask the Feds and States to reduce the taxes they imposed on gasoline. How silly of me to expect those yahoos to ever reduce the size of their hands going into our pockets.

Our current 'Green Energy Plan' will certainly fix all these problems in the near future. (lol)

The primary cause for the spike in oil prices was the Arabian oil embargo. A strong secondary cause was fear: a large portion of US drivers never let their fuel tanks fall below 3/4s of a tank.

I think we need a Department of Energy run within the US Government that can get us off foreign oil. What a clever idea! Why didn't we think of this about 8 administrations ago? Oh, yea, we did. Carter came up with that gem. Let's see, we have a 2012 budget request from those idiots for over $29B! Do the math, and if we take that money, give it to each of the states, they will have $58M to subsidize our fuel prices for us.

Paid $1.41 per litre yesterday (Petro Canada Ultra 94).
1 US gallon = 3.785 litres.
Assuming currency parity, thats $5.33 per gallon.
Not cheaper in Ontario, Canada (but better than Europe).
