First DIY oil change tonight
Bought the car in December freshly serviced and just rolled over 5000 miles, I changed the air and cabin filters, oil and filter. No valves to adjust like the 87 Carrera but just as fun.
Last week I changed the actuator for one of the PSE's, not fun but learned a few things via this forum on muffler removal to make it easier the next time.
Anyway here's a completion picture.

Became a big fan of Spaten Dunkel after last week's Monterey events. They hosted a beer garden at the 'Legends of the Autobahn' and Porsche/BMW Corral @ Laguna Seca.
Sorry for Hi-Jacking the thread.

Changing the oil on our cars is so easy... I usually change the air filter while the oil is draining... I use the plastic ramps for the rear wheels and buy a 5 gallon bucket to collect the oil, after recycling, I just throw the bucket away...

Couldn't have been much easier, I had the filter removal tool from the previous owner so it was a piece of cake. I'm expecting to add another 1/2 quart or so today once I start it up but wanted to wait to be sure. It was easier than most other cars I've ever owed.
I used a solid 4x9 piece of wood under each tire to get it high enough to work under. only bring the car up 3.5" but it's more than enough for simply changing the oil.
I struggled with the air filter a bit as I didn't notice the rubber grommets under the air box had fallen out, I got it all back together and noticed it was still pretty loose, figured i messed something up so I took it apart again and found the two grommets had fallen out.
I was worried when I bought the 997 that normal maintenance and repair would be more difficult but so far it's been just as easy as the 87 and 91.
Now I need to hook up the Durametrics and figure out how to reset the service reminder.

Yes, the rhino ramps barely clears the 5 gallon bucket from homedepot. no more spla****y-splot and when done, just put the lid, seal it and take it to your autoparts. once oil is recycled, just throw it away. Super convenient!
